Dr Prabir Chakraborti

Dr Prabir Chakraborti is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at The Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Chakraborti has a special interest in Urology, Lung, GI tumours and breast sarcoma In the Derby and Nottingham area.  He is a member of the Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Fellow of Royal College of Radiologists (Oncology) and the Medical Defence Union

Dr Chakraborti has been involved in the management and treatment of cancer patients since 1990. He trained in various prestigious and teaching hospitals in London, including the Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Mt Vernon Hospital. An established oncologist of long duration, the provision of treatment maintaining the highest quality and offering state of the art technology together with an up-to-date knowledge base, remain Mr Chakraborti’s top priorities.  Mr Chakraborti is an active and prolific participant in a number of national and international trials of breast and urology patients.

Dr Peter Correa

Dr Correa is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Dr Correa specializes in the non-surgical treatment of Gastro-Intestinal cancers with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted biological treatment. He undertook training in Oncology in India at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay. He acquired regional and national post-graduate qualifications in Radiation Oncology. He was awarded the Satya Pal Agarwal Gold Medal for ranking first in India at the national higher specialist examination.

Dr Correa migrated to the United Kingdom in 2003 and initially trained in General Medicine successfully completing the medical membership examination of the Royal College of Physicians. He subsequently trained in Oncology at the Beatson Cancer Centre successfully completing the fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Radiologists.

Dr Correa speaks English and Hindi and is the lead clinician for the non-surgical treatment of colorectal and anal cancers at the Arden Cancer Centre and have commitments to the NHS at University Hospital Coventry and Warwick Hospital.

Dr Correa is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists; Royal College of Physicians and the British Medical Association

Dr Paul Ross

Dr Paul Ross is a Consultant Medical Oncologist based at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, where he is Clinical Lead for Chemotherapy and he also consults from King’s College Hospital.  He was appointed Consultant in 2004.

Dr Ross graduated from Guy’s hospital, London after training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and complered a PhD at the institute for cancer research. 

He treats patients with colorectal cancer, oesophago-gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, malignancies of the bile duct and gall bladder (cholangiocarcinoma) and primary liver cancer (hepatocellular cancer). In addition Dr Ross treats patients with neuroendocrine (carcinoid) tumours. He is focused on treating patients with cancer with chemotherapy and biological therapies. He has an interest in the use of locoregional therapies for liver tumours including SIRT.

Dr Ross is a member of the London Cancer New Drugs, which advises on the introduction of new drugs throughout the London area and their prioritisation.. He is Treasurer of the Association of Cancer Physicians of the United Kingdom. He is also a member of the advanced disease subgroup of the NCRI Colorectal Clinical Studies Group. 

He has been awarded the McElwain Prize, Association of Cancer Physicians in 2002 and previously in 2001 he was awarded the ASCO Merit Award, American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr Nick Reed

Dr Nick Reed is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Dr Reed qualified in Southampton and worked as a junior doctor in Winchester, Portsmouth and Cheltenham. Further experience in medicine was gained working in Belize and New Zealand.

He underwent his Oncology training on the Wessex training scheme, working in Southampton, Poole and Portsmouth. Prior to his consultant appointment, he spent one year as a research fellow in Radiation Oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Melbourne where he furthered his interest in gastro-intestinal radiotherapy.


Dr Reed is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists.

Dr Marcus Wise

Dr Marcus Wise is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at The Rosemere Cancer Centre in Preston.

Dr Wise qualified at Manchester Medical School in 1990.  After training in general medicine and surgery he took up a registrar post in oncology at the Christie Hospital.

He has extensive experience in a wide range of tumour sites involving use of chemotherapy and radiotherapy with a special interest in lower gastrointestinal, urological (including renal carcinoma) and upper gastrointestinal.

He was appointed to a Consultant post at Royal Preston Hospital, Rosemere Cancer Centre, with peripheral clinics at Blackburn and Burnley in 2002.

Dr Charlotte Rees

Dr Charlotte Rees is a Consultant Medical Oncologist based at University Hospital Southampton, where she is the lead for chemotherapy.

Charlotte completed specialist training in medical oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital between 1996 and 2003. She was also actively involved in the recruitment of patients to phase I to III clinical trials throughout her training and while working for the Institute of Cancer Research at Sutton she was involved in the phase I trials unit.

Dr Rees worked as a consultant in medical oncology and was honorary lecturer at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London, from 2003 to 2005.

Dr Rees sits on the National Specialist Advisory Committee for Medical Oncology. She is the training programme director for medical oncology for the Wessex deanery and has a Medical Research Council scholarship for BSc in pharmacology. 

Dr Rees is a member of network chemotherapy group and a member of network upper gastrointestinal cancers network group.

Dr Andrew Gaya

Dr Andrew Gaya is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Gaya originally qualified at St George’s Hospital Medical School (University of London) where he was awarded a distinction and several academic prizes. He trained in Clinical Oncology at Imperial College and St Bartholomew’s Hospital and subsequently undertook a Cancer Research UK MD Fellowship at University College London.

Dr Gaya treats solid tumours using chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and biological therapy – His main focus is on colorectal cancer, cancers of the oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, and lung cancer. Dr Gaya’s main research interest is in the area of functional cancer imaging, where he is looking for ways to assess response to treatment much earlier and techniques for assessing blood flow and oxygen levels within cancers.

He is also heavily involved with the implementation of the latest radiotherapy techniques such as IMRT, IGRT and Tomotherapy, combining targeted or anti-vascular drugs with radiotherapy, and stereotactic body radiosurgery. He is one of the first UK doctors to use the CyberKnife stereotactic body radiosurgery unit. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and is currently lead clinical oncologist for audit and clinical governance at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Amir Montazeri

Dr Amir Montazeri is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology.

Dr Montazeri studied medicine in Tehran and completed his clinical oncology training on the Wirral, UK, where he remains today.

He specialises in colorectal and urological cancers, giving treatment with both chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He also has an interest in Selective Internal Radiation Therapy.

Dr Tim Iveson

Dr Iveson is a Consultant Medical Oncologist based at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.  He works at both Southampton and Salisbury.

He specialises in the chemotherapy treatment of gastro-intestinal cancers (oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, and bowel cancer).

He is an active participant in clinical trials trying to improve the treatment for these cancers and has published widely on the treatment of gastro-intestinal cancers.

He is the chief investigator of the SCOT study looking at the duration of adjuvant chemotherapy treatment. 

He is a member of the NCRI (National Cancer Research Institute) Colorectal Cancer Adjuvant and Advanced Disease Sub-group. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of Bowel Cancer UK and the Clinical Advisory Board for Macmillan Cancer Support.

He believes that patients should be well informed about their cancer and its treatment and therefore should have access to high quality patient information. For many years he has worked with Macmillan Cancer Support and now is their Chief Medical Editor overseeing the information in their booklets and on their website.
