Dr Bottomley also treats patients using a broad range of external beam radiotherapy techniques including state of the art image guided radiotherapy and rapid arc and IMRT.
Dr Bottomley is highly experienced in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer including the use of chemotherapy and radioisotope treatment. In addition to prostate cancer He has many years’ experience in the non-surgical treatment of bladder cancer and radiotherapy for lung cancer.
Dr David Bottomley is a co-founder of the British Uro-oncology Group which act as a national advisor and provides national guidance and teaching to oncologists. He is presently one of the advisors for the Prostate Brachytherapy information website and is on the organising faculty of the American Society of Clinical Oncology genitourinary oncology annual meeting which is the premier international conference dedicated to uro-oncology. He is and has been the principle and chief investigator for many national and international clinical studies.
